A shortie note to let you know we made a gorgeous CDs & liner notes for Never Had a Love Like This and they arrived at long last! Designed by the inimitable Fernanda Vidal here in Asheville. My neighbor came by when I opened the box:

wind in my sails
It felt SO GOOD to phone bank and be a small part of Zohran’s win in NYC. Why am I crying? someone asked online. I know why. Public reverence of our immigrant neighbors, a model of masculinity that is deeply moral, kind and full of integrity? Tears of gratitude
I also loved the essay “Zohran’s smile” from Anand Giridharadas of The Ink, reflecting on it all: “Sometimes progressivism struggles to be more than just the sum of the injustices it fights, the boots on necks that it wishes to dislodge. It can be angry and pessimistic… It can be hostile to people who agree partly but not entirely. It can value purity over welcome and conversion. And there is something in Mamdani’s smile that breaks from all that. It says: I am against many things, and I want to do and create many things because of the things I am against, but I am more than what I am against.
Alexa Rose released a new album and I can’t get enough of the folk head banger “Where the Magic Lives” and the title track “Atmosphere.”
Filmmaker Bo Burnham on social media: “They’re coming for every minute of your life.”
